C101310000000000-1If you live in NYC like I do, you will see a Bugaboo on every block in every color imaginable.  Now I have been to a few baby stores and they have demonstrated how the Cameleon stroller works and it is quite impressive.  I found that it is an easy stroller to use from it’s ability to move across sand and snow to changing out the bassinet to the toddler seat.  It comes in an array of colors that you can mix and match.

For those who don’t want to plop down the cash that the Cameleon requires, there is the less expensive alternative, the Frog.  There are a few major differences that are worth noting.  The Frog does not have an adjustable handlebar so for those who are taller or shorter, this can present a problem.  Also, the colors cannot be mixed and matched and there not as many to choose from.  You choose a color and the entire stroller is that color.  But, it does have the same construction as the Cameleon and can go the distance.  I know many people who have the Frog and have used it for multiple children through the years.

I hope that whatever stroller you choose from Bugaboo that you are happy with it.

Some of us are lucky to have a wonderful or at least tolerable mother-in-law.  My own mother really cared for and liked my grandmother.  They had weekly dinners at each house and did nice things for one another.  Now, this could have to do with the fact that my mother had lost her parents and took what she could get.  Or it could have to do with the “times” of grinning and bearing your in-laws no matter how terrible they are to be around.  I have to assume it is the former.  I however am not lucky enough to be able to say that I like my mother-in-law or find her tolerable either.  But, isn’t this the way it is supposed to be?  Aren’t we supposed to have issues with our in-laws?  Well, you haven’t seen anything until you have met my in-laws (Bob, my father-in-law excluded, he is wonderful!!).  I am referring to UWS Dad’s mother and stepfather throughout this post.

devil-head-beadIt seems that every time UWS Dad does something unkind or is unkind to me, I immediately think of his mother, Peggy O’Neill and step-father, Tim O’Neill.  I blame them for his lack of compassion and his insane drive to be number one.  I think that his drive can be great but it gets over the top sometimes and I blame them for this.  They did not raise him to value family and it is only through being with me, along with being in touch with his Dad again, that he has come around a bit.  When I first met Tom, he had no desire to get married or have children.  I think he would have remained living with me for the rest of his life and would not made a decision about the future.  I blame Her because she has such a crappy track record with relationships that Tom did not have any example to use.

UWS Dad and I are still trying to agree on a middle name for Baby Hunter.  Please check out his post and vote for a middle name.  I am really pushing for Brown, a family name, while Tom is pushing for Thomas, his name!

Help me out or give your real opinion.  I will not try to sway you, I swear!

Maclaren QuestI won this stroller at a Big City Moms event back in May.  UWS Dad and I went to Planet Kids to pick out the colors we wanted.  Of course, Baby J/ Hunter is not due until November so we had a while to wait before it would be used.  I am not a patient person and am surprised how well I have handled this 9 months being pregnant thing so far.  I would look at the box in our 2nd bedroom and move it so I could get to something else.  This went on for a little while until I could not help myself any longer and I opened the box.

I was pleasantly surprised.  This stroller is quite sturdy and well-made.  The instructions were pretty easy to read however I would recommend going to your local baby store and having them demonstrate all the features.  It comes with a rain cover so there is one less accessory to purchase.  For more details, check out their website: http://is.gd/1GNqB or you can always go to your local baby store to see it in person.  Some of my favorites are: Buy Buy Baby, Planet Kids, Babies r Us and Schneiders Baby.

This is a great mid-level umbrella-type stroller (it will run you about $245) that will suit your city or suburban needs for babies from 3 months to 55lbs.

I saw the picture in this article in Celebrity Babies and find it hard to believe that she is six months pregnant.  I am about six months along and certainly look MUCH bigger than this.  I understand that she is a model and all, but really?  I am so jealous!!  http://celebrity-babies.com/2009/07/16/karolina-kurkova-and-fiance-reveal-baby-is-a-boy/

I don’t know if it is the warmer weather but it seems that people are showing me what not to wear in the summer.  I am no fashionista and have never claimed to be.  My husband tells me that I dress like I am Amish (plain and drab).  I tend to wear solid colors together and don’t own a ton of print clothing.  Though I think I have gotten a bit more colorful in my choice of clothing.

The other day I was walking behind a woman who was wearing very tight white shorts.  The first problem was that she was no size zero in back and the shorts were riding up as a result.  The clincher was that she was wearing turquoise green thongs with these white shorts.  I think that makes it two “don’ts” rather than just one.
