short sleeve ruched teeI went into Destination Maternity on Madison Avenue in my 2nd month but felt like I was an imposter.  I was not showing and was barely into my pregnancy.  I had gone to pick up some cream so I could start the process of preventing stretch marks — if that is even possible, the jury is still out on that one.  Upon stepping into the store, I was amazed.  This was like the mecca of maternity clothing.  I didn’t even take the time to look around at the clothing = imposter.  I went right to the rack of creams, oils and body washes, picked up what I needed and checked out.  I even told the cashier that I was buying it for my pregnant sister.  My sister, Beth, got a real kick out of that one.  Anyhow, when it came time for me be able to really shop for maternity clothing I was very excited to go back.  I have to say that maternity clothing has come a long way.  No one knows that I am wearing maternity clothes, it is great.  I have always worn baggy clothing so it is not a huge step for me to be wearing the maternity tops I wear now.  I am also surprised at how fast the $$ adds up.  I kept thinking to myself that most of these pieces are on sale so no big deal.  I guess getting laid off and not shopping anymore has really put me out of the loop of spending money.  It adds up fast and goes quickly.  I am trying to make sure that I can wear most of these pieces in all if not most of the seasons I am pregnant.  I can’t justify spending that money on me when I could be spending it on Baby J (our nickname until we find out if it is a boy or girl).
